The Zeitz Foundation, in collaboration with Laikipia Wildlife Forum (LWF), Mathare Youth Sports Association (MYSA) and many other organisations, has successfully implemented the Laikipia and Beyond Unity Cup (LUC) throughout Laikipia since 2009. The LUC aims to create unity, peace and understanding amongst the diverse and dispersed communities of Laikipia, whilst raising awareness of environmental issues and delivering health care to marginalised, diverse communities of Laikipia county. LUC events have seen upwards of 40,000 actively participating. 

The LUC utilises football as a tool to bring people together and provide the forums through which the objectives of the LUC are met. Dozens of related environmental, social and cultural activities take place during events, which further the objectives of the LUC and spread appropriate knowledge and techniques. The LUC will continue to be held on a biennial basis. Teams competing in the LUC will be drawn from the region wide League.
